Fertilizer dosing for the aquariums of different types
Dosage is the first question that everyone faces when dealing with any fertilizer. Wrong dose choice is one of the most common mistake leading to disruption of the balance in your planted aquarium. That is why this article describes several typical cases and dosage of fertilizers corresponding to these cases.
Fisrt type of aquarium
You have few plants and lots of fishes in your aquarium. Light intensity less than 0.5 watt/L. No CO2 supply. And intensive water changes do not improve the condition of your plants.
Then you need to use AQUAYER Yermolayev`s fertilizer Micro in minimal dose - 1 mL per 70 L of water per day, or 2 mL per 70 L every other day. Weekly dosing of the fertilizer can be applied for this type of aquariums - 2 mL per 40 liters of water per week. Since in this type of aquarium include lots of fishes, nitrates and phosphates come with feed and water changes. But tap water is poor in potassium and it comes with feed insufficiently. Therefore, it is recommended to apply fertilizer AQUAYER Yermolayev`s fertilizer Potassium for this type of aquarium instead of Macro.
Second type of aquarium
You have few plants and fishes in your aquarium. Light intencity less than 0.5 watt/L. No CO2 supply. And intensity of water changes, or dosing only Micro does not improve the condition of your plants. Then you need to use Micro with Macro in minimal doses - 1 mL per 70 L of water per day, or 2 mL per 70 L every other day, alternatively.
Third type of aquarium
If the aquariums of first or second type have CO2 supply then you need to use Micro and Macro in dosages of 2 mL per 70 L of water per day. But this dosage should be applied gradually from a minimal dosage of 1 mL per 70 L with increase of plant amount.
Forth type of aquarium
This aquarium contains many mostly slow-growing plants or the average density of fast-growing plants. CO2 supply is present. Light intensity: 0.5-0.8 watt/L. Dosage for such aquariums: 3 ml per 70 liters of water per day for Micro and Macro as well.
Fifth type of aquarium
Unlike previous type these aquariums contain lots of fast-growing stem plants which require high light intensity (1 watt/L) and nutrients supply. Daily dosages of Micro and Macro can reach 4 mL per 70 liters or more.
If all of the recommendations were applied but your plants show signs of chlorosis (yellowing of leaves), then in such cases it makes sense to add iron ions AQUAYER Yermolayev`s fertilizer Iron.
It is recommended to make minimum 30% water changes the substitution at least once a week to prevent imbalanced fertilizing in your aquarium.
