Test kit pH+KH for determination of pH (acidity) and KH (carbonate hardness, alkalinity) of aquarium water
It is necessary to strictly follow the instructions to ensure the accuracy of the test declared by the manufacturer.
pH determination
1. Pour 5 ml of aquarium water to the test tube
2. Add 5 drops of pH reagent
3. Swirl the test tube in a circular motion
4. Compare colors in the test tube with the scale
KH determination
1 drop of KH reagent = 1 degree of carbonate hardness (alkalinity)
1. Pour 5 ml of aquarium water to the test tube;
2. Add KH reagent dropwise until the color changes from blue to yellow
(!) Swirl the test tube after each drop.
Estimation of CO2 concentration
Match the measured values of pH and KH of water using the enclosed table.
(!) Over time pH of the aquarium water is reduced that causes the error in the estimation of CO2 concentration by comparison pH with KH as overestimation of the actual CO2 concentration in the aquarium water.
